Deep cleaning (dirt, oil and grime will build up over time), the best solution for cleaning wood floors is one cup of vinegar mixed with one gallon of water. Immerse a clean mop into the solution and wring it until it is damp-dry.

For this deep cleaning hardwood floors you won’t need much, here are the supplies:

– one cup of vinegar
– 1 gallon of water
– 5 drops of dishwashing liquid
– a vacuum
– a mop
– a dry cloth.

First off, you will need to vacuum the floors. It will make cleaning easier and you will get dirt and debris out of the way.

Then, in a bucket, mix together the vinegar, dishwashing liquid, and the water. Sink in the clean mop into the mixture and make sure you wring it until it is damp and dry.

Next, simply run the mop back and forth, going with the grain of the wood. Make sure you are using smooth strokes because we are talking about hardwood floors, they require special attention. You don’t need to press too hard with the mop, the mixture itself will do the cleaning.

Lastly, after mopping, use a dry cloth to buff the floor and make it shine. Simply hold a soft cloth in your hand and start rubbing the floors gently and most importantly, in circular motions. That’s it, easy-peasy, brand new hardwood floors.
