7 Useful Tips Every Housewife Should Know To Clean Windows Effortlessly

Cleaning the windows and window frames is a difficult job to do. Beside that you are working very hard, you have to spend a lot of money on cleaning products.
Well, some very hard-working housewives found the secret of cleaning windows on a budget and without working too much.

1. Ammonia for a long-lasting cleaning
To maintain your windows clean, prepare a mixture of 1 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of liquid dish detergent in 1 liter of water. This mixture will create a protective layer on the glass surface. Apply the solution with a sponge and wipe it well.

2. Rubbing alcohol removes fingerprints on glass
Traces of fingerprints disappear if the glass is wiped with rubbing alcohol.
How to proceed? Dilutes the alcohol in the water and then add a few drops of essential oils to leave behind a pleasant fragrance. After you have wiped the glass, you don’t need to rinse it.

3. Potato removes difficult stains
If the stains are old and deep, try to remove them using a slice of raw potato. Rub the stain well and wait for a few minutes until the starch traces dry. Then remove them with a solution made of rubbing alcohol and water.

4. White vinegar removes hard water stains
The windows that are near the kitchen or bath sink are prone to collect hard water deposits. White vinegar helps you to get rid of them! Dilute half a liter of vinegar in one liter of water. Spray the solution on the window/mirror and then wipe it with a lint-free cloth.

5. Salt removes cloudy look
Glass windows, especially those from the balcony and the kitchen, often have a cloudy aspect due to dust, steam, oil or grease stains. These traces come out if you use coarse salt. Dissolve coarse salt in white vinegar and water and rub the windows with a light abrasive sponge.

6. Essential basil oil drives flies away
Using essential basil oil, you will drive flies away. We all know that flies dirt your windows very badly. All you have to do is add a few drops of essential basil oil in a sprayer, and add over it a mixture of white vinegar and water. Vinegar will remove dirt and degrease the glass, and basil will keep flies away and other unwanted flying insects.

7. Baking soda removes paint stains from windows
If the window is stained with paint, use a solution of 250 ml of hot water and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Soften a cloth in this solution and rub the stain to remove it.
